With five paper converting machine production lines – three for paper towels and bath tissue, one for napkins and one for facial tissue – the Hagerstown Tissue Converting Facility will soon be a 24/7 operation and is seeking talent to fill the position of Human Resources and Safety Manager.

The position
You will assume the following responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with Resolute’s safety system, including adherence to all safety procedures as well as requirements concerning personal protective equipment
• Oversee recruitment
• Carry out employment verifications and check new employee I-9s in the E-Verify system
• Assist with full-cycle onboarding
• Assist with benefits enrollment paperwork and respond to related questions
• Assist with employee relations and behavioral issues by providing advice and drafting documents
• Serve as a point of contact for employees’ leaves of absence and prepare, send and receive FMLA paperwork and STD claims
• Audit timecards and work with supervisors to resolve discrepancies
• Perform entry of HR and payroll data in HRIS and other systems
• Ensure employee training and/or certifications are completed in a timely manner
• Follow Resolute Tissue’s programs and policies
• File and maintain various records
• Handle sensitive and confidential information with care

The ideal profile

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources
• Three years of experience in a human resources setting
• Safety-focused mindset
• Experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English (Spanish, an asset)
• Leadership skills: ability to motivate and influence others so as to promote and improve policies and programs and contribute to employee engagement
• Ability to work as a member of a team and to communicate with all levels of the organization
• Analytical skills and the ability to make the right decisions quickly, even when you have incomplete information or are working under pressure
• Ability to adapt quickly to change and to innovate
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to meet deadlines, while delivering quality results
