Location: Human Resources

Hours: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm, Monday – Friday

Pay: $23.00 – $37.00, depending on experience.

The experience you need to succeed:

  • Two to three years of similar or related HR experience is required.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent G.E.D. is required.
  • Must possess excellent communication for building relationships and social cooperation.
  • Must also be a team player, self-starter/independent worker and have strong organizational skills.
  • Able to have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

What you’ll do:

  • Manages the posting, application, screening, interviewing, assessment taking, background checking and overall hiring processes.
  • Assists in organizing, updating, and administering CU Policies and Procedures.
  • Administers our FMLA and ADA programs.
  • Conduct pre-employment background checks, employment assessment testing, and on-board new employees.
  • Represent the Credit Union at job/career fairs, similar events as requested and develop relationships with external employment sources.
  • Conduct new hire and annually required trainings such as benefits and or harassment.
  • Serve as backup payroll coordinator by training and practicing in submitting payroll. As needed, accurately maintains the complete payroll process from beginning to end.
  • Act as a liaison between HR and branches/departments.
  • Maintain various files (applications and I9s), logs, and records for the HR department.
  • Runs audits to ensure compliance with policies and procedures and conduct exit interviews.
  • Responsible for planning or helping with various events.
  • Research and recommend programs to enhance HR function.
  • Assists in conducting annual salary/benefit surveys.
  • Acts as a backup on retirement administration. As needed, completes retirement open enrollments, processes distributions and loans with the help of our vendors.
  • Serve as a backup on benefits administration. As needed, administer health/dental insurance enrollments, and holds enrollment meetings. Cancels coverage for terminated employees, update COBRA information; monitors ensuring accurate and timely payments and credits. Audits statements and payroll for accurate benefit enrollment and CU contribution.
  • Act as a backup for the following duties: administer Section 125 benefits, processes EEO report calculates and updates and verifies other departmental data requirements including unemployment claims.

The person in this position will be responsible for completing the varied duties of the Human Resource department, including but not limited to helping the team fulfill: administering leave and handling employee relations issues, conducting recruiting and on-boarding, policy administration and updating, administering benefit and payroll plans, and other assigned generalist duties.
