Weyerhaeuser is searching for a Human Resources Leadership Development Professional (LDP) to join our team in Millport, AL. The Human Resources LDP is an entry level HR Generalist role, supporting our state-of-the-art Millport, AL facility. In partnership with the Sr. HR Business Partner and Mill Manager, the HR LDP will provide basic HR support to the lumber mill, including but not limited to, recruitment, onboarding, training and development and employee relations. As a Human Resources LDP, you will have real responsibility serving in a broad HR capacity where you will build strong partnerships with employees, business leaders and the HR team. This position will report to the Sr. HR Business Partner and will participate in targeted developmental activities to grow as an HR leader at Weyerhaeuser.



Key Functions

  • Understand business operations from both a strategic and tactical perspective. In partnership with the Sr. HRBP, accurately diagnose organizational issues, develop solutions and implement action plans.
  • Establish credibility and trust with employees and leaders as a reliable HR resource.
  • Learn and drive recruiting and onboarding efforts for the location.
  • Assist employees with day-to-day questions and concerns regarding the Employee Service Center, Talent Management, Payroll, etc.
  • May provide some HR administrative support / HR information systems management.
  • Research concerns/complaints, assist as needed with investigations and work with leadership to resolve as appropriate.
  • Learn and assist with coordinating compensation cycle, salary administration programs and annual performance management processes.
  • Manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Work with HR team in providing strategic HR support to client group and serve as “back-up” as appropriate.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Human Resources or related field
  • Results oriented; sense of urgency in responding to business needs, with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Interest and commitment to growing and developing as a future leader
  • Excellent customer service and relationship building skills with employees at various levels of the organization
  • Acts with urgency. Strives for simplicity and exercises sound judgement
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, including project and time management
  • Excellent communication skills. Good listener and collaborator
  • High degree of integrity and strong work ethic
  • Flexible to work across a large geographical area, which may include occasional overnight travel
  • Ability to thrive in an office and field environment, which includes intermittent visits to woods operations and mill sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • HR internship experience within a manufacturing setting
  • PHR or HR Certification
  • Ability to relocate within the Southern United States
