This position is eligible for a Retention Bonus:
$300 after 3 months; $1200 after 1 year

POSITION SUMMARY: Job duties encompass: employment, compensation, benefits, payroll, organizational development, employee relations, performance management, training, recruitment and safety knowledge. Administers and enforces approved programs and policies designed to protect company and employee interests in accordance with company HR policies and governmental laws and regulations. Identifies and complies with legal requirements and government reporting regulations. Position may supervise additional human resource staff/payroll and safety.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations
  • Assure fairness, consistency and confidentiality is maintained at all times
  • Define turnover causes and develop action items to reduce and maintain
  • Assist managers and supervisors in creating and defining personal development opportunities for accurate and attainable performance goals
  • Facilitate team training among supervisors/leads
  • Promote and assess employee involvement in the Employee Assistance Program
  • Maintain Affirmative Action Compliance program
  • Coordinate all EEOC responses and actions
  • Coordinate all ESC responses and actions
  • Strategic planning for training and employee development
  • Central change agent for organizational and policy changes
  • Point of contact and administrator for all harassment and misconduct issues
  • Ensure proper investigation and research of all disciplinary actions including internal and external compliance with all State and Federal Laws
  • Full benefit coordination and communication to employees
  • Responsible for all recruitment and personnel needs
  • Negotiate contracts for personnel vendors and canteen suppliers
  • Administer all plant wide events (cookouts, United Way, food trucks, holiday luncheons)
  • Implement full tracking systems for: Turnover / Absenteeism
  • Administer Leave programs both company and federally regulated
  • Facilitate/oversee Safety Manager corrective actions of Insurance Carrier findings
  • Succession planning for staff and management through Director of Manufacturing
  • Maintain/Ensure Security Systems for facility (key fob)
  • Administer salary weekend payroll
  • Oversee hourly payroll administration
  • Communicate all salary payroll changes/edits through Corporate Payroll
  • Support Safety function and provide coverage when needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of Human Resource responsibilities – BA or BS degree with HR Certification preferred
  • Understanding of the People Aspects of the Business
  • Understanding of the Laws as applicable to our Industry
  • Ability to Facilitate Technical and Non-Technical Personnel
  • Ability to Communicate to any level of Employee
  • Understanding of Operational side of business
  • Resource and Guidance to Plant Manager
  • Ability to be objective, unbiased and consistent with policies and procedures
  • Proactive in the area of employee development
  • Understanding of Workers Compensation and Benefits

PHYSICAL/MENTAL/VISUAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This job is conducted in an office and manufacturing environment with frequent computer use.
  • Work involves standing and walking up to 50% of the time. Must have ability to bend, kneel, and reach.
  • Must be able to exert up to 20-50 lbs. of force occasionally.
  • Frequently work at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is dictated by the work area.
  • Responsibilities may occasionally require adjusted work schedules, overtime and weekend hours to meet deadlines.

LANGUAGE/COMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
  • Must have the skill set to create materials and make presentations to professional staff.
