The HR Manager is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources support. The HR Manager role is critical in executing Bell Partners’ people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.
Hiring Requirements
Purpose of the Job:
The HR Manager will manage the associate life cycle for a designated client group including associate relations issues, investigations, conflict resolution, coaching leaders, offering advice and counsel to leaders on policies and performance management best practices, and litigation/EEOC support. Additionally, you will manage a Talent Acquisition Specialist supporting the same client group. Overall, this position will drive a positive culture that creates an inspiring associate experience. It is vital that the HR Manager demonstrates the following attributes: entrepreneurial mindset, hands-on, willing to go the extra distance to ensure associate and customer expectations are met, and communicates succinctly with associates, customers, and Bell Partners managers. This position reports to the Vice President of Human Resources.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Partners with the VP of HR to establish best practices, employee relations, retention, policies and procedures, partnership with the business leaders, and being proactive in identifying development opportunities to elevate the engagement of our associates.
  • Manages Human Resources operations by coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing staff job contributions;; resolving problems; partnering with the VP of HR to implement change.
  • Manage special projects by identifying and clarifying issues and priorities; communicating and coordinating requirements; expediting fulfillment; evaluating milestone accomplishments; evaluating optional courses of action; changing assumptions and direction.
  • Supports management by providing Human Resources advice, counsel, and decisions, analyzing information and applications.
  • Guides management and employee actions by recommending policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values.
  • Acts as agent of change in redefining the human resources function and outputs.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Some travel may be required.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists with other tasks and projects as required
Specialized Knowledge and Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field required.
  • Minimum two years experience managing staff required.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in an HR Business Partner/manager role required.
  • Experience managing the HR function for multiple sites required.
  • Experience working with remote teams a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, coaching and counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies and procedures required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management required.
  • Must be able to prepare written reports and correspondence and effectively present information.
  • Must be able to build and maintain positive relationships both internally and externally.
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. (state and federal laws) and labor laws required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Required computer skills to include: MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Workday, as well as additional hardware/software applications utilized by Human Resources.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the role.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work well under pressure.
  • Excellent organization skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated team player with a passion to succeed.
  • Experience in real estate and/or multifamily industry preferred.
