HR Generalist (San Antonio, TX)

San Antonio area specialty services contractor is seeking an individual to administer human resources and support payroll processing from our location in SE San Antonio.

The position is responsible for implementing and supporting human resource programs for a construction contractor’s office, to include the development and execution of those processes. Candidate should be self-motivated with the ability to work independently, have time management skills, and exhibit a high level of organization.

DUTIES include, but are not limited to --
* Manage employment-related functions through the employment lifecycle, including onboarding, orientation, evaluation, and termination of new and existing employees

* Assist management in maintaining staffing levels to meet company needs
* Coordinate and ensure regulatory compliance of the HR program, including posting required notifications, generating applicable documentation, and maintenance of employee files
* Develop and maintain employee relations, including responding to employee inquiries and counseling employees on company policies and procedures

* Active and passive recruiting for new prospective employees, to include placement and administration of job advertisements, pre-screening, and interviewing applicants for potential placement

* Administer employee benefits programs, to include medical and ancillary benefits, 401k program, paid time off, incentive and awards programs
* Assist management and HSE with the coordination of safety programs, employee training, and employee testing
* Support of the HSE group in documentation of potential injuries and administration of potential claims
* Support weekly payroll processing, to include administration of workers compensation, taxes, unemployment insurance, and employee benefit programs

QUALIFICATIONS include, but are not limited to –

* 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in the contracting or manufacturing fields
* Proven competency in management of human resources and labor relations, to include meeting regulatory requirements
* Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including those of Dept. of Labor, OSHA, and other state and local governing bodies
* Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills
* Proficiency using computers, multi-line phone, and other electronic means of communication

* Bi- or multi-lingual candidates are preferred

* Knowledge in Spectrum enterprise software preferred

* Degree in human resource management or a comparable program preferred

Position is full time working Monday – Friday during regular business hours. The position will be salaried, and compensation will be negotiable depending on experience. Offer contingent on a pre-employment drug screen. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
