The Human Resource Coordinator provides assistance with and facilitates the human resource presence at all team locations. Under direction of the HR Director, this role coordinates recruiting and sourcing for candidates and supports hiring managers. The Human Resource Coordinator makes sure that hiring practices are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including employee onboarding, record keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following areas:

Recruiting

  • Maintains recruitment and interview process in partnering across all departments and levels.
  • Posts positions internally and externally via various job boards, update job descriptions, and monitor costs for job postings.
  • Administrator of Applicant Tracking System - troubleshooting issues for hiring managers/candidates, build processes for more efficiency, and add/remove users when necessary.
  • Sources candidates from job boards via boolean searches for passive applicants and maintain open lines of communication.
  • Conducts phone screens with candidates for applicable skill sets for interviews.
  • Schedule interviews for the hiring team (Program Director, Assistant Director, and Regional Director) and provide updates on the status of interviews to the hiring team.
  • Tracks hiring process to ensure candidates are being screened and interviewed quickly and efficiently. Tracks status of candidates in applicant tracking system.

Onboarding

  • Prepares offer letters and coordinates recruiting or training equipment and materials as needed.
  • Sends offer letters and other required documents for onboarding via applicant tracking system.
  • Conducts professional reference checks of new hires.
  • Collects new hire documents and confirms all necessary documents have been submitted.

Communications

  • Monitors and updates posts on CBEM social media sites on a regular basis.
  • Prepares and posts anniversary/welcome/announcements/newsletters with graphics.
  • Tracks posts and publications on social media/other for data collection.

HR Events

  • Assists with new hire orientation, human resources events (such as career fairs) and open enrollment for benefits as directed. Participates in New Hire Orientations virtually and in person.
  • Assists with coordination of employee special events as needed (parties, teambuilders, lunches, etc.).

Employee Data

  • Custodian of Record for Live Scan and tracks Live Scan background clearance for new hires.
  • Processes verification of employment requests.
  • Assists with processing of terminations.
  • Files documents into appropriate employee files.
  • Prepares new employee orientation paperwork and files.

Education

Minimum Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

Previous 1 year experience in human resources is required.

Candidates should also have excellent teamwork, multitasking and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with computer programs such as Google Suite, Greenhouse, Linkedin Recruiter, Canva and MailChimp is preferred. Background check required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at our Lafayette Support Office. This position has regular business hours, although additional and/or alternative hours may occasionally be required depending on the position.
