JOB SUMMARY
:
Under the supervision of the Housekeeping manger(s), responsible for general building cleaning and project work to include, but not limited to: vacuuming, floor washing, wall washing, light window washing, waxing, refinishing, buffing, and striping of various types of floors. In addition, carpet shampooing, extraction, and shop vacuuming when required. Small furniture project work (spot removal, fabric cleaning)
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
:
- Completes daily project work as assigned or as the needs arise (emergent project clean ups)
- Assists in maintaining project equipment ( cleaning, and other maintenance as required per manufacturer recommendations)
- Maintains all floor surfaces within the hospital ( patient care areas and common areas and offices)
- Adheres to weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual project work as assigned by managers
- Acts as a self starter and is pro-active with completing and recommending project work to be done
- Light interior window washing as needed or assigned
- Responsible for outdoor maintenance of all entry ways on main campus to clear of trash and debris daily as needed
- Maintains walk off mats ( cleans, recommends for replacement and or professional cleanings when needed)
- Assists in the coordination with facilities of light fixture cleaning (removal of bugs when needed) – team job
- Cleans all elevators and stairwells of dust and debris at minimum weekly. Polishes elevator walls and cleans light as needed.
- Is cross trained in the EVS department to include trash and BIO Medical waste position and will assist and fill in as required by management.
- Other EVS duties as assigned by management
- Remains flexible with work schedule and projects as assigned so projects can get completed at convenient times and days for our clients and customers
QUALIFICATIONS
:
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience: Prior experience performing cleaning operations in a hospital, industrial or office setting. Previous project work experience preferred.

DEMANDS
:
Medium work: exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally; up to 25 pounds of force frequently; under 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Ability to be fully mobile on steps and ladders.
Ability to work from a crouched or bent over position.
Ability to adapt to repetitive procedures.
ENVIRONMENTAL
CONDITIONS
:
Work in an environment where there is limited physical discomfort due to noise, heat, dust, chemical fumes and the like. Works with chemicals that are potentially harmful if proper precautions are not used.
