JOB TITLE: Housekeeping Attendant - Medical Office (Main - Arlington Blvd. location)

HOURS: PART-TIME; Mon-Fri; 5pm to 9pm

FLSA Status: Nonexempt

JOB SUMMARY: Perform day-to-day medical office housekeeping functions in office areas, patient/procedure rooms, common areas and special projects as assigned. These duties include sweeping and/or mopping floors, dusting furniture, cleaning walls, furniture, medical equipment, and emptying trash, restocking supplies, cleaning bathrooms, etc.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Housekeeping Supervisor; Procurement & Facilities Manager

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KEY SKILLS: High School or equivalent required. Previous housekeeping/cleaning experience in a healthcare setting and knowledge of applicable OSHA practices and Infection Control procedures for healthcare is strongly preferred. Individual must be able to work independently and schedule cleaning activities to meet the needs of patients and Arlington location staff/physicians.

  • Must display a high level of confidentiality, integrity and initiative.
  • Must be able to work well under stress, tight deadlines and fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a strong sense of team commitment, which includes meeting deadlines, punctuality and excellent follow-through and feedback.
  • Must possess exceptional organizational and critical thinking skills.
  • Must be able to read and understand Standard English and be able to work with standard cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to form positive and collaborative relationships with all levels in the organization.
  • Must possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills and have the ability to create a favorable impression for the organization to all staff, physicians, patients and the public.
  • Working knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment
  • Knowledge of the English language so as to understand operating instructions for cleaning equipment and materials and safety and accident prevention
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
