The mission of Parisi House on the Hill is to end the cycle of drug and alcohol dependence of our clients, all of whom are mothers. We are Santa Clara County’s first mother-and-child residential alcohol and drug treatment facility, allowing mothers to focus on their treatment program without the emotional distress caused when separated from their children. We provide living facilities for 20 mothers and 22 children who have made the choice to end the cycle of substance abuse.

The position

Parisi House on the Hill has an immediate need for multiple House Managers. All House Manager positions are entry-level and report directly to the House Manager Supervisor. The position is critical to our ability to continue to deliver our evidence-based programs that address the needs of recovery while valuing the unification of mothers and their children. There is a need for the following shifts:

- Part Time: 7 AM - 3:30 PM, Saturday and Sunday

- Part Time: 3 PM – 11:30 PM, Saturday and Sunday

- Full time: 11 PM - 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday

- On-Call: 7 AM - 3:30 PM, 3 PM - 11:30 PM, 11 PM - 7 AM, all days

Responsibilities

The House Manager oversees the safety and well-being of our clients and provides supervision on house rules, chores, mother-child interactions, client interactions, and scheduled activities. House Managers maintain logs, provide general assistance to clients, give access to medications, and keep the house running safely and smoothly. House Managers will monitor clients that are going through withdrawal. This will include taking vitals, 30-minute checks, daily assessments, and other various duties. House Managers also provide both scheduled and emergency transportation to clients using the agency’s van. Rehabilitation and role-modeling are critical to the mission of Parisi House on the Hill; providing privacy and safety for clients to participate successfully in the program is required of all staff members. This role requires collecting urine samples from clients and performing searches of clients and/or their rooms.

Requirements

This position requires strong personal boundaries, excellent organization, and time management skills. We also require a valid driver’s license, current auto liability insurance and clean driving record, background clearance, drug screening, Influenza (FLU) Vaccine, COVID-19 vaccine, working knowledge of common software programs like MS Office, plus logging and filing skills. Successful candidates have good verbal communication skills and the ability to make quick decisions when needed. Our ideal candidates thrive in an environment where managing multiple tasks is the norm.

Desired qualifications

While not required, our ideal candidate has some experience working in the recovery and/or mental health field, in a multicultural setting with women and children affected by the disease of addiction and having possible developmental delays. Prior experience in role-modeling recovery concepts, healthy life skills and positive parenting skills preferred. Capability in a second language (Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Farsi or Tagalog) is also desirable.

Sign on Bonus

We are currently offering a sign-on bonus of $1000, when accepting a position at Parisi House. If hired, you will receive the first $500(Gross) of the sign on bonus in your paycheck after 6 months of employment and the remaining $500(Gross) of the sign-on bonus in your paycheck after 12 months of employment
