Summary: We are looking for positive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented candidates to join our talented team as host/hostess. This is a unique opportunity at two restaurants located on Pittsburgh’s North Shore! As a host/hostess, you will be responsible for seating guests, answering the phone, making reservations, and assisting the FOH staff while maintaining sanitation standards. A successful candidate will possess excellent communication and multi-tasking skills. Ultimately you will play an essential role in contributing to our legendary customer experience and restaurant growth.
Join our team, as you will work beside our amazing team across three new restaurants part of North Shore Food and Beverage, Inc.; Batty’s Pizza, Taps, and Taco, and The Allegheny Grille at PNC Park.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Properly record reservations.
- Arrange parties or special dinners for guests.
- Greets guests escort them to tables and provide menus.
- Coordinates activities of dining room personnel to ensure prompt and courteous service to patrons.
- Inspects dining room serving stations for neatness and cleanliness.
- Maintains cleanliness of hostess stand and vicinity.
- Other duties may be assigned by superiors.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Advanced knowledge of food profession principles and practices.
- Excellent knowledge of back-of-the-house, ordering, and inventory systems.
- Available to work on-call, shifts, after hours, weekends and holidays.
