Overview:The Help Desk Technician position provides support to several areas of the company for hardware or software problems that may occur. The position will configure and install systems, diagnose problems, connect/disconnect systems from the network, log issues and work at resolving trouble tickets in the ticketing system.

Work Environment:*

  • Location: Axim Geospatial Regional office in Birmingham, AL (this is not a remote position)
  • Travel up to 15% of the time

Responsibilities:Essential Functions:

  • Assist with monitoring, triaging, and escalating incoming requests and incidents
  • Support internal and remote employees with technical issues related to connectivity, hardware, and software
  • Perform regular maintenance, patching and upgrades, performance monitoring and tuning of desktop equipment as required
  • Track company software and hardware assets
  • Diagnose hardware and software problems
  • Provision new images and software
  • Create training documents for staff and departmental processes
  • Assist other IT staff members as needed

Qualifications:Requirements:

  • Associates degree with at least one year of relevant help desk experience, two years of relevant help desk experience without a degree or a combination of both education and experience
  • Strong aptitude in OS repairs, spyware and virus removal, hardware, upgrades, and troubleshooting
  • Basic Windows Server experience (2012R2-2019)
  • Basic network knowledge and experience
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Experience Preferred:*

  • Experience with Office 365 administration
  • Experience managing users and computers in Microsoft Active Directory
  • Experience with geospatial software installations (nice to have)
