About the role:
The Healthcare Analytics Manager is a key management position responsible for overseeing and developing organizational analytic services, dashboards, reporting, benchmarking, and data warehouse infrastructure in support of the strategic and operational goals of the agency. The Healthcare Analytics Manager will apply healthcare and informatics knowledge to lead our team in building a decision support system upon which sound clinical, financial, quality, technology and performance improvement data driven decisions can be made. The Healthcare Analytics Manager will use data visualization and reporting tools such as PowerBi to deliver and oversee the delivery of actionable, insightful strategic management reports and dashboards. The Healthcare Analytics Manager is a critical thinker and a champion of patient and family centered care understanding the importance of a balanced approach and is driven to implement system-wide data solutions to transform healthcare, measure organizational performance, increase effectiveness, and realize cost-efficiencies. This position proactively develops new methods to analyze key healthcare metrics, conducts deep dive analyses into data and provides timely recommendations to leaders of opportunities to improve clinical care, financial performance, and the value of the agency’s services.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science from an accredited college or university or equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in data warehousing, extraction, collection, transformation; working with complex data sets, advanced in SQL/database query writing.
  • Management experience with demonstrated ability to lead, develop and mentor others.
  • Experience in healthcare with healthcare systems, data analytics/informatics and reporting development preferred including electronic health records (HER), pharmacy and financial systems.
  • Proficient in using data visualization, data insights, reporting and presentation tools and techniques including PowerBI (preferred); MS Reporting Services (SSRS), Tableau, SAS, Business Objects, or other tools.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Access. Advanced Excel knowledge required including pivot tables, formulas, and macros.
  • AHIMA Certified Healthcare Data Analyst (CHDA) or Certified Professional in Health Informatics (CPHI) preferred or candidate willing to pursue such certification.
  • Ability to facilitate and collaborate with teams across the business to develop solutions and roadmaps that align with the strategic business objectives; ability to quickly establish rapport and credibility at all levels within an organization, including the executive and board-level.
  • Solid presentation and communication skills; ability to effectively communicate to ensure consistent information exchange; ability to explain complex analytic results to an audience of varying levels of technical understanding.
  • Detail oriented, self-directed and ability to work with minimal supervision while managing a team of data analysts.
  • Results oriented, strong project management and organizational skills; ability to effectively organize and drive projects to conclusion; anticipating next steps.
  • Ability to effectively analyze and resolve problems in a timely manner with strong business judgement.
  • Proven success to effectively build, teach, coach, mentor and lead a team, creating and maintaining a collaborative and respectful team environment.
  • Identifies and pursues own professional development needs and seeks appropriate assistance while coaching team members on their development goals.
