Walker Methodist Health Center is seeking an experienced Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) responsible for prioritizing, organizing, coordinating and performing non-nursing administrative tasks.
Schedule:
Full-time
Education:
- Graduate of a HUC education program or prior experience as a HUC
- Must have or be willing to obtain HUC certification within 60 days of hire
Preferred Experience:
- At least two years' experience in an acute care, transitional care, or long-term care setting
- Previous experience with order transcription
- Previous experience working with electronic health record system(s)
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Work effectively as a team member
- Highly developed interpersonal communication, customer service, patient-centered, professionalism, and relational
- Problem solving skills
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Highly organized with attention to detail and follow-through on all aspects of job
- Ability to function under stressful situations and easily adapt to changes in routine
- Competent with Microsoft Word and Excel and other data entry programs
- Embrace and live out qualities of servant leadership
