The Health & Safety Coordinator oversees all aspects of health and safety within the organization. The Health & Safety Coordinator's primary role is to establish standards to protect employees in the workplace. Additionally, duties will include creating safety standards and programs, educating team members on the importance of safety, and implementing said programs. The Health & Safety Coordinator reports to the HR Manager and works with the corporate Safety Manager.

POSITION DUTIES

Strategy

· Create safety standards and produce safety programs to educate the organization

· Practice safe working techniques

· Implement and maintain health and safety standards

· Conduct regular staff meetings to share best practice techniques

· Standardize health and safety to remain consistent

· Promote safety initiatives

Employee Relations

· Establish a cordial and professional relationship with employees

· Assists with employee retention, relations, and company culture

· Facilitates workers compensation

Quality Control

· Familiar with various safety regulations (OSHA) and maintains compliance with all regulations

· Compile and maintain relevant registers to ensure compliance

· Document staff information, minutes of meetings, and reports compiled for management

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

· Bachelor's degree, associate degree, or equivalent experience, preferred

· On-the-job training available

Safety Skills & Certifications

· The organization will supply proper training for necessary certifications

Personal Traits & Skills

· Leadership: Strong attention to detail and ability to lead an organization relative to health and safety

· Communication: Strong communication and presentation skills, have the ability for others to understand what safety standards are and how to achieve success under your program

· Relationships: Willingness to learn about various departments of the organization while guiding and directing team members to successful safety outcomes

· Proficient with MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Pay: $41,500.16 - $85,233.02 per year
