Health Information Management- Release of Information Specialist Job at MMRA
We are hiring a Release of information Specialist at our client's site: Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. This job offer is for a full time position (40 hrs a week, M-F 8:00am-4:30pm) and offers great benefits!

THIS POSITION WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Greeting patients & customers as they come into the release of information area, assisting those with health information needs or questions.
- Verify the validity of medical record requests and accompanying paperwork, including POAs, subpoenas and court orders.
- Use multiple hospital & provider systems to locate appropriate patient records.
- Quality check information prior to release.
- Handles high volume of incoming phone calls.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Protect and maintain the confidentiality of patient’s medical records and patient information
- Experience with medical records, medical terminology, Electronic Health Record systems, HIPAA regulations
- Detail oriented
- Ability to operate PC, copier, fax machine and other office-related equipment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Computer and data entry skills
- Ability to handle multiple phone lines and high call volumes
- Answer all routine customer inquiries in an efficient and effective manner
- Ability to cope in fast paced environment and multitasking
- Display a courteous and professional manner through interaction, appearance, and attitude
- Ability to work in a team environment, team player
- Ability to sit for a long period of times, ability to stand frequently as patient walk ins come into the department
- Excellent oral and written communication with co-workers, management and the public
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
