Head Start Assistant Teacher Position Job at Northern Tier Community Action Head Start
Northern Tier Community Action Head Start Bradford, PA 16701
An assistant teacher provides direct assistance to the Teacher in conducting classroom activities, maintaining classroom environment, and supervising children; may also assist in planning and record keeping and other classroom related duties. Additional duties include, meal prep and clean-up, grocery shopping, room cleaning and maintenance, and bus monitoring.
Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood and the ability to communicate in a concise and effective manner are essential job skills.
The position is Monday-Friday for a total of 37.5 hours per week for approximately 37-40 weeks/year. A GED or high school diploma, clearances, and a physical are required. CPR and First Aid Certification must be obtained.
Candidates with an associate degree in ECE or HDFS or those with a CDA are encouraged to apply. A CDA (Child Development Associate Certificate) must be earned within two years of starting in our employ. This is a 120-hour training and is paid for by our company.
