    JOB SUMMARY:
    This position completes a variety ol tasks in the general care ol an elementary school building and surrounding grounds. Provides safe and clean school buildings for students, stalf, and community. Performs duties with minimal supervision.

    Must be able to work swing shift 3:00pm – 11:30pm

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND BESPONSIBILITIES:
    Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position petform some or all of the following tasks. Other related duties may be assigned.
    1. Follows and maintains knowledge ol all applicable District policy(ies) and procedures.
    2. Cleans and disinfects areas as assigned (i.e. rooms, halls, offices, restrooms, cafeteria, etc.), vacuums, shampoos, sweeps, scrubs, waxes, polishes, mops and buffs all types of floor surfaces.
    3. Dusts each room on a regular basis.
    4. Washes windows, white boards, walls, doors and baseboards.
    5. Cleans and polishes furniture, windows, metal work and computer screens.
    6. Maintains indoor and outdoor lighting.
    7. Washes, scrubs and disinfects restrooms and locker rooms as well as cleans sinks, fixtures, panels and drinking fountains daily.
    8. Checks and stocks bathroom supplies.
    9. Cleans up spills (including bodily lluids) in safe and appropriate manner.
    10. Responds to special requests for custodial services from staff members with supervisor approval.
    11. Sets up, takes down and moves tables, chairs, equipment, shelving and partitions for meetings, athletic events and other needs as assigned.
    12. Locks doors and windows, turns off lights and secures buildings and property as assigned.
    13. Makes minor repairs (i.e., sinks, tiles, lockers, change light bulbs, etc.).
    14. Picks up trash.
    15. Empties and cleans waste containers.
    16. Maintains basic grounds keeping ol school property, including mowing, trimming and watering.
    17. Reports safety, sanitary and fire hazards immediately to supervisor.
    18. While working collaboratively with others, implements decisions within ASD established policies and procedures.
    19. Professionally represents the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students and resolves conflict in a professional manner.
    20. Works collaboratively with District and building administralors and other department staff to provide reliable service to customers
    21 . Communicale clearly with coworkers and other staff .
    22. Participate as an eflective team member.
    23. Provide impeccable customer service.
    24. Interacts thoughtlully and courteously with students, staff, administrators and parents and resolves conflict in a professional manner.
    25. Mlaintains appropriate certifications and training hours as required.
    26. Attends work regularly and is punctual.

    MARGINAL DUTIES ANO RESPONSIBILITIES
    Marginal duties ol this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other related duties may be assigned.
    1. Assists in maintaining an inventory of supplies and equipment.
    2. Assists maintenance department as necessary.
    3. Attends staff meetings and in-service trainings.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    All school employees have some responsibility for supervising students and assisting in maintaining a safe environment.

    • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
    • lnterpersonal Skills: Works well with others from diverse backgrounds. Ability to interact with students, staff and community appropriately. Creales a warm and welcoming atmosphere for students and staff.
    • Language Skills: Ability to communicate fluently verbally and in writing in Engllsh. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to follow written directions.
    • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
    • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a variety of situations.
    • Computer Skills: General knowledge of computer usage and abllity to use e-mail, database, spreadsheets and word processing software.
    • Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to appropriately communicate with students, teachers, administrators, parents and members of the community.
    • Cenificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certifcates as determined by the District including a current valid Oregon Drivers license and ability to obtain a valid CPR/First Aid card.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus, depth perception and peripheral vision. Demonstrate strength and dexterity to operate cleaning tools and grounds equipment.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level ln the work environment is usually low to moderate, but occasionally high.
