Beta Technologies is seeking a Harness Installation Technician to join our electronics team. As a harness installation technician, you will be an integral part of certified aircraft harness designs and development for our certified aircraft. The harness installation system is integral to all aircraft power distribution and subsystems power delivery. This role will be heavily focused on wiring, connectors, chafing protection, and training in applicable FAA harness certification requirements. This role will also include electronics support in all aspects of the business on an as-needed basis.
How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
- Oversee buildup, repair, and modification of aircraft wiring harnesses for certification.
- Given design files and wiring diagrams, create aviation quality wiring harnesses utilizing best practices outlined in applicable FAA documentation.
- Troubleshoot and rework aircraft-ready electrical equipment and line replaceable units.
- Review harness designs for manufacturability/reworkability. Occasionally design simple harnesses to support projects for the electronics team.
- Assemble aircraft wiring harnesses in-house.
- Maintain electronics lab cleanliness and equipment and procure commonly used materials including wire, crimps, heatshrink, etc.
- Maintain electronics lab safety.
- Work closely with engineering to develop and conduct test plans for harnessing including continuity, shorts, opens, hi-pot, etc.
- Build cool things!
Minimum Qualifications we are seeking
- Associates degree in electrical engineering technology/similar or equivalent civilian or military work experience
- Aerospace maintenance or electrical systems maintenance experience
- Electronics manufacturing or maintenance planning and execution
- Experience building wiring harnesses (aircraft harnesses preferred) and experience with Molex connector series (Microfit, Nanofit, Minifit, Duraclick), Mil-Spec 38999-style connectors, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to operate lab equipment including low and high-voltage power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, soldering irons, heat guns, crimping tools, etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (and be a fun person to work with!)
- Slack, Google G -Suite including drive, mail, calendar, docs, sheets, etc,
- Ability to obtain airport SIDA clearance
Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you
- 2+ years work experience in electronics manufacturing, testing, etc.
- Experience with aircraft certified designs which may include: AS50881, IPC 620, AC 43.10, F2639
- Experience crimping, soldering, and pinning various types of aircraft components
