Southern Tier AIDS Program, Inc. is seeking a Harm Reduction Coordinator in our Johnson City office. This position is responsible for directing and overseeing daily operations of the Syringe Exchange in conjunction with the Director of Programs-Harm Reduction. Supervises staff providing services to participants of the Syringe Exchange Programs, as well as developing, planning, delivering and evaluating all Harm Reduction programs. Develops and presents community education about Harm Reduction services. Coordinates and executes street, community, and provider in-reach and outreach to promote programming, recruit clients, and offer harm reduction education.

Salary:
  • $21.98/hour working 35-hours per week, may vary depending upon experience.

This individual is responsible for meeting the transportation and insurability requirements of this job. A valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation is a requirement of this position.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health, Education, Social Work, Liberal Arts or a related field preferred and two years experience preferred.
  • An Associate’s degree in Health, Education, Social Work, Liberal Arts, a related field, with a minimum three years of professional or volunteer experience in a human services or community based organization is accepted.
  • Computer literacy, organizational skills, public speaking and presentation skills, strong interpersonal skills, knowledge and acceptance of the Harm Reduction
    philosophy required.
  • Minimum of two years working in Human Services. Previous Syringe Exchange, substance use treatment, or experience working with persons experiencing homelessness desired.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
