Gymnastics Instructor Job at Norridge Park District
BASIC FUNCTION:
Youth Gymnastics instructor will develop, plan, coordinate, instruct and evaluate the 6-13 year old gymnastic program.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for planning, supervision and safety of the Norridge Park District gymnastics program.
Demonstrates knowledge of gymnastics and the ability to assess and assist children’s progress.
Required to set up equipment, including but not limited to mats, balance beams and any additional gymnastics
equipment required for the program.
Track weekly attendance of participants.
Work with other staff efficiently.
Maintain equipment provided to participants and ensure it is being used correctly.
Communicate any medical or behavior issues with Recreation Supervisor and Parents.
Provide First Aid when necessary.
Ensure the safety of all participants throughout all practices, including spotting of all participants.
Work requires regular speed, accuracy and adeptness to operate a limited range of gymnastics equipment.
Work requires handling light and simple weight materials or equipment requiring limited effort.
Submit accident and incident reports to supervisor completely and promptly.
Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years of age.
A minimum of 2 years of gymnastics experience; competing or teaching.
CPR / First Aid Certified or obtained w/ in first 6 months.
