Job Summary:
Under limited supervision, Campground Guest Service personnel greet guests at the Jekyll Island Campground, answers questions, and provide information. Operates point-of-sale system for retail sales and reservations system. Ensures guest satisfaction through a high level of customer service performance.

Description:
  • Greets guests and campground visitors and provide information, campground services, and other information as needed courteously and professionally.
  • Answers phones in a prompt, efficient, and friendly manner,
  • Operates the campground office, including sales, stocking, merchandising, making reservations, and assigning campsites.
  • Operates point of sale system and cash register.
  • Promotes Campground services, facilities, and other Jekyll Island Authority amenities such as Sea Turtle Center, Mini Golf, Bike Rental, Golf, Summer Waves, etc.
  • Resolves minor guest complaints to the customer's satisfaction and informs the manager of significant problems, complaints, disturbances, or unhappy guests.
  • Completes daily paperwork, including balancing drawer, documenting adjustments, refunds, etc.
  • Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
  • Applies and follows organization policies and procedures.
  • Assists in keeping the Campground office, store, and guest areas neat, clean, and tidy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years old or older
  • Minimum of basic computer skills required.
  • Must be able to count money and operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Credit, Criminal, and MVR background checks are required.
  • Flexible availability must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional early evenings.
  • Regular and predictable punctuality and attendance of scheduled hours are required.

Physical Activities/ Working Conditions Requirements:
  • Exert up to 35 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • More than 50% of the typical workday will be spent walking, standing, reaching, grasping, and using repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions.
  • Between 25% and 50% of the typical workday will be spent crouching and/or stooping, kneeling.
  • Less than 25% of the day is spent climbing stairs, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying, crouching and/or stooping, and kneeling.
  • Must have visual clarity to prepare and analyze data and figures, transcribe use of computers, and expansive reading.
  • Sensory abilities required include vision, feeling, and touching, with more than 50% of the day spent talking and hearing.
  • Most work will be performed within an indoor office environment; however, work may be occasionally subjected to adverse weather conditions.
  • The noise level is considered normal.
