The Group Fitness instructor has a passion for fitness, an innate drive for connecting with people and making them feel supported and successful and enjoy making people smile. They are responsible for instructing exercise programs under the YMCA guidelines and planning the class to assist in meeting the goals and objectives of the Beaverton YMCA.
Hiring for the following formats: Zumba Gold, Senior Fitness, Barre
Job Specifics:
- Have fun
- Enjoy teaching assigned classes on a consistent and regular basis
- Be available to substitute teach whenever possible
- Strive to maintain and increase your class attendance and participation
- Teach to make students feel successful, and educate members on proper exercise techniques
- Make your students' safety and enjoyment your number one priority
- Convey warmth and genuine interest to the students: make eye contact, smile, use students' names, personalize the workout, even in a large class
Requirements
- Nationally recognized certification
- Certification in multiple formats, such as Active Aging, Barre, Cycle, Dance Fitness, HIIT, Kickboxing, Pilates, Tai Chi, Yoga
- CPR/AED/First Aid
- Must pass YMCA background check
- Experience using basic computer software, audio equipment, and mobile technology
- At least two years of experience instructing group exercise (preferred)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
