About our Company We are seeking a dynamic part-time, seasonal Groundskeeper that resides in Ward 1 to join our team. A successful candidate will have a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain good communications and team work with fellow coworkers and other departments within the hotel
- Clean hotel grounds and removes litter and trash, including trash, weeds, brush and debris, on a daily and consistent basis
- Responsible for manually watering all plants and flowers located on hotel grounds and the general maintenance of plant life throughout the hotel
- Responsible for the care, maintenance and inventory of all grounds keeping supplies used as part of the grounds keeper role and ensures they are safe and in good working conditions
- Performs daily walk-thru of the hotel grounds and identifies, reports, as well as addresses areas with immediate grounds keeping needs
- Perform routine maintenance duties such as applying plaster, fixing fountains, and other duties
- Continually monitors all work areas for safety and sanitation
- Ensures clean and clear sidewalks and driveways as needed in order to maintain a safe environment for all associates and hotel guests including sweeping and blowing
- Responsible for maintaining a clean, clear and presentable pool area which includes the organizing of pool chairs, tables as well as clearing of all trash and debris
- Use hand tools, such as pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes
- Work with flexibility during high volume periods and cover shifts when necessary
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping
- Communicate all information related to the property to the Chief Engineer in a timely manner
- Maintain an appropriate variety and quantity of engineering tools and supplies
