What you’ll be doing:

As a Grounds man you will provide daily maintenance of the exterior facility grounds at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). You’ll complete the manual labor associated with the maintenance of the grounds including manual labor, mowing, cutting, trimming, pruning and the use of powered equipment tools.

• Perform tasks according to daily routine of work procedures.
• Stay on task until tasks are completed timely.
• Mow, cut, and edge grass.
• Trim and/or prune trees, hedges and bushes.
• No grass or tree trimmings shall be left in any of the beds or sidewalks.
• Sidewalks shall be swept or blown on a daily basis and free of snow and ice.
• Storm drain shall be free of leaves, pinecones, needles straw and other debris.
• Clean ditch/curb cleaning, fence line maintenance, and rating.
• Shrubs, hedges, and flowerbed shall be mulched and maintained.
• Grass and weeds shall not be permitted to grow on sidewalks, street and/or parking area.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe work environment for customers and employees
• Notify supervisor of supplies, equipment needing repair and/or replacement.
• Follow all work procedures and standards according to the QMS, EMS and OH&S.
• Compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Police all areas in addition to common areas.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• General knowledge or experience in grounds maintenance.
• The ability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate physical strength which may include bending and lifting necessary to perform the daily duties of the position.
• Be available for shift work.
• Have the ability to maintain a positive demeanor while engaged in repetitive work tasks.
• Have the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with your supervisor and other co-workers.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more routinely

NARA: 5780 Jonesboro Road; Morrow, GA 30260

Monday – Friday; 7am-3:30pm
