SUMMARY

Create high-quality art for a variety of platforms for U. S. Air Force Mission and Support Center clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Communicate professionally in person, on the phone and via email with stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Project Manager and team members to translate client data and ideas into infographics and other visual client strategies
  • Demonstrate a firm grasp for selecting colors, fonts, composition and other design principles
  • Confer with teams to resolve conflicts, prioritize needs, develop design criteria or choose solutions
  • Create layouts and design boards to communicate creative concepts for review

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No supervisory or management authority.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years of work experience as a graphic designer
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic arts, design, communications or related field; and/ or technical training or design certification equivalent

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be a self-starter with excellent time management and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines and projects
  • Ability to evaluate and think critically, with customer needs in mind
  • Demonstrate passion, enthusiasm and creativity
  • Successfully pass a federal background check and a drug screen
  • Cherokee Federal has suspended it’s COVID mandate. However it’s important to note that Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently not subject to enforcement by the Federal government. Therefore, Cherokee Federal has suspended application of the mandate and continues to monitor the government’s guidance on administration of any vaccine requirement.

PORTFOLIO

  • Must include a portfolio of successful work; portfolio should demonstrate competencies in print-layout, photo-editing and vector-art creation software as well as an understanding of basic visual design principles
  • Examples of infographics, social media graphic campaigns, newsletters, catalogs, and logos preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Designer will work remotely and collaborate virtually with a remote team
  • The ability to pass a drug screen and background check is required
