POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently recruiting for a Grants Administrator. The Grants Administrator is responsible for supporting the Center for Health Promotion staff within the Division of Community Health & Equity and related duties as assigned. This full-time M-F 8:30-4:30 position pays $25.38 per hour and is located in office in Providence, Rhode Island 02908.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Support contract document preparation, collection, review for new contracts, and existing contract modifications

· Ensure all appropriate documents are included, coordinates with program management and fiscal, on the workflow from contract preparation to purchase order

· Follow contracts through to completion which may include checking status, resolving problems and reviewing/expediting issues

· Serve as contract liaison for external agencies/vendors as applicable for questions, contract changes, and obtaining signatures and approvals

· Work with external agencies and vendors concerning contract budget tracking, payment issues and invoicing

· Monitor external agencies and vendors to ensure they are in alignment with programmatic goals and deliverables and in compliance with state and federal laws

· Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

· Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.

· Participate in staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars as assigned.

· Recommend new approaches, polices, and procedures, to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.

· Efficiently performs duties as assigned and works as a team within division and company.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills within the English language.

· Proven, high quality customer service (internal and external customers).

· Ability to work collaboratively.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Ability to work independently and contribute as a team player

· Solid ability to analyze situations carefully and adopt appropriate courses of action.

· Ability to prioritize tasks.

· Ability to effectively communicate to large and small group audiences.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

· Education: gained through graduation from a college of recognized standing with specialization in public health, public administration, business administration, hospital administration or a related field

· Experience: Such as may have been gained through employment in a responsible position involving hospital, public, business, or health administration.

Or, any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and experience.

· Experience with State Government guidelines and Federal Grants is preferred

· Active experience using Microsoft Office Word and Excel

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

· Must be able to lift and move up to 25 – 50 pounds at times.

· Standard hours of work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, however evening and weekend hours may be required.

· Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
