As we grow, we are seeking a GIS Project Manager with strong GIS technical expertise to support clients on best practices for implementing GIS enterprise platform solutions and to help clients realize their vision and drive toward their goals. The GIS Project Manager is forward-looking, collaborative, and will expand Woolpert’s footprint as an industry leader within the GIS solutions niche. Success will be measured by your ability to develop, lead, and manage profitable growth through meaningful client relationships. This position can be performed remotely anywhere in the Continental United States.
Responsibilities:
Independently perform most assignments with general instructions as to the results or desired objective.
Work with staff to ensure successful project delivery, consistent quality, customer satisfaction, financial performance, and team/office satisfaction.
Provide quality reviews of project documentation including work plans thru final deliverables.
Understand our clients and know their business. Understand how GIS technology can help our clients be more successful in getting a return on the use of GIS technology.
Advise clients regarding innovative solutions using GIS technology and content to help them make better decisions. Recommend relevant strategies, architectures, and solutions and work with customers to prepare implementation and migration strategies.
Assist in business growth of GIS Enterprise services by developing and supporting a pipeline of existing business/contract opportunities.
Manage, monitor, and forecast metrics including: Backlog, Profit and Loss, Sales, Net Revenue, Utilization, Continuing Education, and Non-Billable Travel and Expenses for yourself.
Collaborate closely with the Aviation Geospatial Practice Lead and dedicated aviation staff to deliver the practice goals.
Maintain a thought-leader/Subject Matter Expert profile in the industry by preparing related articles and/or speaking at regional conference presentations.
Requirements
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a minimum of 10+ years’ of related work experience and certification as a GISP.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a dynamic environment.
Must be willing to travel to clients, conferences and other Woolpert offices.
Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
Quickly adapt and respond to industry changes as well as internal initiatives
Aviation Subject Matter Expertise is preferred but not required in one or more areas: Standards and Database Design, Enterprise System integration, Application Development, or Esri software.
Experience with Asset management and/or BIM Systems desired but not required.
