Schneider Electric Smart Grid Solutions, LLC seeks a GIS Consultant at its facility located at 2620 East Prospect Road, Suite 130, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
What will you do?
Technical responsibility for one or more concurrent projects that require custom software design and deployment.- Have a full understanding of implementation requirements and how multiple pieces of the implementation will fit together for each project.
- Work with Project Managers to define the best technical approach to meet customer business requirements using one or more Schneider offerings.
- Lead project requirements gathering workshops and develop resulting documentation.
- Lead the design and documentation of proposed customer solutions based on defined requirements.
- Work directly with other groups within the organization to develop and validate proposed solutions and designs.
- Prepare project analysis, design, functional and interface specification documentation.
- Perform system, database, application, and network capacity planning for clients.
- Perform data model planning, data conversion, data migration design, planning and execution.
- Perform data migration design and consulting.
- Carry out configuration, test planning and test execution on one or more concurrent projects.
- Option to Telecommute.
- 50% of travel is required; for client meetings / business engagements / project workshops & discussions.
What qualifications will make you successful?
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a Bachelors in geography, computer science, engineering, GIS, or a related field plus 5 years of experience in the utility industry.
Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience with:
(1) Utilizing GIS solutions (ArcGIS, ArcFM, Geodatabases, etc.);
(2) Designing and implementing solutions for one or more utility domains;
(3) Implementing of utility engineering software solutions such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Outage Management Systems (OMS) and/or Engineering Analysis (EA). Preference given to those with extensive GIS experience;
(4) Documentation, Testing, Installation, Commissioning and Service Processes;
(5) Integrating enterprise applications e.g. SAP, PeopleSoft, WMS, OMS, etc;
(6) Utilizing commercial RDBMS such as Oracle and SQL Server preferred; and
(7) Working with electric, gas and telecom/fiber, companies.
RATE OF PAY: $113,651.00/yr
