Position Details

Position:
Full Time, 40 hours weekly
Hours available Monday - Friday 8:30am-5pm;
Some weekend or evening hours

Reporting to:
Development Manager
Compensation: $48,000 - $58,000 annual salary depending on experience
Benefits: Full time positions are eligible for our comprehensive benefits package

About the Position
Community Action House is seeking a highly relational individual to serve as our first Gift Officer! In this position, you will connect individuals and institutions to our mission & values through missional giving opportunities. This position leads major donor portfolios of individuals and institutions resulting in significant revenue generated for our organization.

As a key member of the Development Team, our Gifts Officer will work hard to implement strong donor stewardship. This role is perfect if you’re naturally gifted in building relationships, passionate about what we’re doing at Community Action House, and are eager to share the things you’re excited about!

Qualifications

    • Passionate about Community Action House mission and values
    • 3+ years fundraising or sales experience
    • Strong public speaking skills in small and large contexts
    • Highly conscientious with a strong attention to detail
    • Talent for building strong relationships across differences
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent projects on time and on specification
    • Strong written & oral communication skills
    • Experience using various software and CRMs, or fast learner with new technologies and database systems
    • Integrity, positive attitude, and commitment to learning and growth
    • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with other people
    • Strong time-management skills
    • Tech savvy with experience using GSuite & MS Office

Regular Tasks in this Role

    • Maintain an annual donor portfolio of all major donors (individuals and corporations) at the $1,000 level annually, which includes researching, prospecting, cultivation, asking, retention, upgrading, and stewardship.
    • Partner with Development Manager and CEO to support their donor portfolios.
    • Work in partnership with the Donor Relations Specialist to implement strong donor stewardship and relations for all major donors.
    • Cultivate and solicit event sponsorships to underwrite key events annually.
    • Oversee strategy, invitations and growth of legacy and planned giving initiatives.
    • Serve as a partner to the Development and Communications Teams in the annual planning for campaigns and social giving strategies.
    • Prospect new donors, research potential relationships, and lead outreach efforts to acquire new funders and partnerships.
    • Work with Program and Event teams to solicit and steward in-kind donations, as needed.
    • Support Development Team through writing and reporting on foundation grant applications under $10,000, as needed.

Other Factors

    • This position will function in an open office environment.
    • Must be able to work independently and occasionally non-traditional hours (weekends, evenings) to support events and other development activities.
    • Reliable transportation and driver’s license required to drive between CAH buildings and to various community locations throughout Ottawa County, predominantly Holland/Zeeland area
