Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of professional experience, including 5 years of executive-level product development (e.g., product conception, launching, developing, and building multiple products).
  • Experience managing and developing a team of product managers.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams including Engineering and Marketing.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience designing, developing, and launching products from early stage to market maturity and delivering multiple products and/or programs with technical dependencies on other product areas.
  • Experience as a general manager, driving growth at scale within a large, matrixed technology company.
  • Understanding of technologies of daily relevance to consumers.
  • Ability to communicate story, shape the strategy, and define the roadmap in inventive ways, collaborating with leadership and peers.
  • Ability to build and manage high performance teams and drive product excellence across many different functions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills including C-level influencing skills.

About the job

In this role, you will have responsibility for Discovery Campaigns and you will lead and manage an organization of engineers and product managers partnering closely with UX, marketing, business development, other cross-functional teams as well as their peers in Google Ads.

You will drive product strategy and inspire an inclusive and creative leadership team to deliver successful and innovative product launches in partnership with the larger ecosystem, and plan for global market growth.

The US base salary for this full-time position is $550,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Buying Platform team to define the advertiser buying interface for Google’s Discovery campaigns and define its long-term position in Google’s overall advertiser offering.
  • Drive the business success of Discovery Ads and deliver on the business/advertiser growth goals. Build a compelling product narrative which clearly articulates the vision, goals, and path to success for Discovery Ads.
  • Partner across Engineering, UX, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Strategy and Operations, and other organizations/functions to drive the Discovery business performance.
  • Inspire and partner with our key advertisers as we develop product offering for a rapidly evolving market.
  • Manage and motivate a team of high-performing product managers and engineers who lead products in growth stages. Drive operational excellence.
