JOB SUMMARY:

The General Manager is a versatile management role designed to support Fetchers in all aspects of the business. This professional manages the overall operations of the location, provides team management, and assists the owner with business growth and positive impact in the community. This position will collaborate with Prairie Peak’s team members, customers, and suppliers as the primary leader of the business location.

The priorities are

1. Make sure dogs are well cared for all the time every day. Be the glue that keeps the operations running smoothly and dogs well cared for every day.
2. Hire and train in hard working team members and work with Owner on payroll budget amounts
3. Manage team members goals, progress, and provide coaching and correction when needed
4. Build a strong position in the market by providing valuable and beneficial services that help all dog types thrive.
5. Adjust Operations to ensure smooth day to day function.
6. Look outward at long term goals and other ways we can help the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Leadership: Fulfills Prairie Peak’s mission by building a culture of teamwork and professional excellence to serve customers, resolve issues, and operate on behalf of ownership at the location. Sets a positive and constructive tone and work pace for the location. Resolves various issues in a manner that minimizes business disruption, owner involvement, and negative social media exposure. Works with ownership to apply structured and informal tactics to create a family like culture at Prairie Peak.

Team Management: Recruits and manages team members to fulfill operational needs. Oversees performance management for all team members which includes onboarding employees, training, individual goal setting, daily coaching, annual performance reviews, and corrective action if necessary. Oversees the annual merit increase process.

Operations: Guides the delivery of exceptional services provided by Prairie Peak. This includes all operational functions from scheduling personnel, opening and closing the facility, registrations, dog management services, customer service, communications, supplier relationships, and resolving issues.

Financial Accountability: Oversees the daily business transactions and accounting to ensure accurate and timely invoicing, collections, deposits, disbursements and reporting of funds. Manages supplies, payroll, promotions, and advertising.

Customer Service: Ensures outstanding customer service is delivered to and verified by Prairie Peak’s customers. This important construct will be tracked and managed on a quantitative basis with customer reviews and survey tools. Resolves customer issues with professionalism, fairness, and financial discernment oftentimes without owner consultation.

Innovation: Continually assesses business strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities with a mind-set of improving the overall Prairie Peak’s offering in the location. Works with ownership to make adjustments to services, facilities, pricing, and new investments to expand and enhance Prairie Peak’s market position and financial performance.

Other Duties as Assigned: To respond with flexibility to the needs of the business – both internally and externally – by addressing important tasks when observed or requested by owners. Adopts an ownership attitude.
