Job Description

Who you are:
You are a key part of the construction process using hand tools such as saws, drills, shovels, hammers, etc. and, if licensed, heavy machinery to excavate pool sites, build concrete and gunite forms, and ensure plumbing is completed to specifications.

Essential Functions:
  • Completes assigned projects on time
  • Reports any issues to site management
  • Arrives ready to work for long periods outdoors
  • Properly utilizes hand tools in a safe manner
  • If licensed, properly utilizes heavy machinery in a safe manner
  • Operates pumps or compressors
  • Cleans equipment
  • Maintains construction tools or equipment
  • Signals equipment operators to indicate proper equipment positioning
  • Installs plumbing
  • Positions structural components
  • Directs vehicle traffic
  • Reviews blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements
  • Finishes concrete surfaces
  • Cleans work sites
  • Compacts materials to create level bases
  • Digs holes or trenches
  • Marks reference points on construction materials
  • Assembles temporary equipment or structures
  • Dismantles equipment or temporary structures
  • Loads or unloads materials used in construction
  • Moves construction materials to locations where they are needed
  • Applies sealants or other protective coatings
  • Cleans surfaces in preparation for work activities
  • Removes worn, damaged or outdated materials from work areas
  • Positions construction forms
  • Protects structures or surfaces near work areas to avoid damage
  • Mixes substances or compounds needed for work activities
  • Breaks up rock, asphalt, or concrete
  • Spreads concrete or other aggregate mixtures
  • Operates heavy-duty construction or installation equipment

Other Responsibilities:
  • Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material — Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Controlling Machines and Processes — Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.
  • Handling and Moving Objects — Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
  • Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment — Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment.
  • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates — Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates.
  • Performing General Physical Activities — Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

  • Motivation - Self-motivated, self-starter; ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Multi-limb Coordination — The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
  • Near Vision — The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Oral Comprehension — The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Oral Expression — The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.

What you must have:
  • No licenses or certifications needed
  • Heavy machinery experience preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License preferred
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Building and Construction — Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures.
  • Public Safety and Security — Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective operations for the protection of people and property.
  • Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.



Physical Demands:
  • Ability to work outdoors in all conditions
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to operate equipment for long periods

Work Environment/Hours:
  • This position works outdoors
  • Hours may change depending on time of year or weather conditions. Generally, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Some overtime/weekend work may be required

  • Lewisville, TX
