Funeral Apprentice Job at Lindley Funeral Home
Job Description: The funeral apprentice will assist in all areas of conducting funeral services at the funeral home. The funeral apprentice will serve families with exemplary customer service skills and ensure all family needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of the deceased for visitations and/or transfers as required.
- Directs funeral and memorial services including greeting and assisting guests and family members at the funeral home, cemetery, church or other location.
- Maintains excellent customer service skills and respect towards families.
- Learns to finalize arrangements and conduct full service funeral and memorial ceremonies.
- Learn to produce funeral contracts.
- Dressing and/or casketing of the deceased.
- Completes or assists in removal of descendants from hospitals, coroner offices, retirement homes and residences.
- Performs verification of the deceased and reviews required documentation.
- Cares for the deceased in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Other duties as assigned by the funeral home manager.
Requirements:
- Drivers license with clean driving record
- Ability to obtain an apprenticeship license by the state of Georgia.
- Adhering to the dress code of the funeral (formal wear)
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds safely.
- Ability to properly fill out paperwork as assigned by the funeral home for removal of the deceased.
- Willingness and ability to work night shift and/or be on call.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
