Position Summary

Under the direction and guidance of the Director of Philanthropy & Community Engagement, the Development & Database Coordinator is responsible for the foundation’s DonorPerfect database system as well as supporting other Foundation development activities. The role will have primary responsibility of the Foundation donor program, first time donor engagement and developing small to mid-level financial support for the organization. The Development & Database Coordinator must have an ability to interact with community residents in a professional and engaging manner.
Key Functions:

  • Managing the foundation’s DonorPerfect database of donors and prospects, information retrieval and analysis, database maintenance and reporting.
  • Analyze data and work with Director of Philanthropy & Community Engagement to use analysis to plan development activities and guide donor retention and stewardship efforts.
  • Work in collaboration with the Director of Philanthropy & Community Engagement to support major donor stewardship, plan, implement, execute, and close campaigns.
  • Responsible for all donation data entry and reporting for accurate gift processing.
  • Work in collaboration with the organization’s Finance team to ensure all donations are entered and designated correctly in the database.
  • Coordinate and send donor gift acknowledgements for all in-kind and monetary donations.
  • Produce weekly donation reports and retrieve donor lists upon request.
  • Provide end of year donation receipts.
  • Assist with Annual Fund campaign and kickoff event.
  • Conduct donor research.

Develop small to mid-level financial support tasks to include:

  • Coordination of stewardship plans for small to mid-level donors.
  • Refine and implement plan for various donor segments with emphasis on donor retention.
  • Coordinate materials and oversee mailings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate appropriate first-time donor engagement.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience of event planning and development initiatives for a nonprofit organization required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience and demonstrated working knowledge of DonorPerfect database coordination and oversight required.
  • A minimum of 3 years proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience working in a similar role in the Healthcare industry or Senior Living residential environment a plus.
  • Graphic design experience a plus.
