Role – Fund Accountant
Job Description (Four days in-office)
The Fund Accountant is a strategic leader who excels in a fast-paced, agile, corporate environment. This role demands principled thinking, well-honed project management skills, a stubborn refusal to settle, and an appreciation for bold innovation.
This Fund Accountant is accountable for all aspects of accounting efforts for our joint venture entities including preparing journal entries and reconciliations and generating timely financial reports. Responsibilities include:
- Perform daily accounting for Taxable REIT Subsidiaries (TRS), Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) and holding companies in the joint venture structures
- Record capital contribution and distribution activity
- Prepare monthly equity pick-up calculations and journal entries.
- Record elimination entries
- Prepare month end reconciliations
- Prepare reconciliations of intercompany balances within joint ventures
- Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements
- Preparation of financial statements and footnotes for annual joint venture audits
- Communicate with property accountants to resolve questions and obtain information needed for footnotes.
- Respond to inquiries from auditors
- Develop process improvements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 2+ years Accounting Experience
