Role Summary

As a member of the Information Services team, the Java Developer is responsible for analyzing user specifications and requirements that reflect the business needs and delivering high-quality software solutions to meet those business needs.

This individual must assist in design, development, testing, maintenance, and modification of software programs according to specifications. This will also include verifying logic, performing necessary debugging, and writing related documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle, including the writing, testing and modification of code and database systems.
  • Maintain existing legacy java infrastructure while implementing new projects in modern frameworks.
  • Utilize Linux platforms (RHEL/Atomic) and containerized systems (Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes/Cattle) while developing, building, and deploying applications.
  • Prepare and produce releases of software components.
  • Support continuous improvement by investigating and recommending changes to existing java infrastructure.
  • Debugging and resolving technical issues as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Five years of proven related experience in Java and Spring Boot framework required.
  • Exposure to RESTful web services, Spring Data (JDBC/JPA) required, with knowledge of the Spring MVC and Spring Cloud framework preferred.
  • Working knowledge of J2EE/JEE, Struts, Tomcat, HTTPD Gentoo and Ubuntu.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and project management skills.
  • Highly developed presentation, technical, and communication skills.
