FRYSC Corps is an AmeriCorps grant program sponsored by the Kentucky Division of Family Resource and Youth Services Centers (FRYSC). The Youth Service Corps program provides a student opportunity for career exploration at our partner centers in K-12 schools. Youth enrolled in the program get practical experience planning and implementing projects that address food insecurity. The Youth Service Corps program manager is responsible for leading the Youth Service Corps teen leadership program. They work with our partner centers to establish effective service plans for youth participants. They support youth participants to ensure a successful AmeriCorps service experience. The Youth Service program manager is part of the tightly knit FRYSC AmeriCorps team that strives to develop programming that meets the needs of FRYSCs and Kentucky students. This is a remote work position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead youth development ? program structure and ongoing training, including food insecurity instruction, employment skills, service learning and project planning;
  • Develop and lead orientation, training and support for partner site supervisors;
  • Assist partner sites in recruiting and selecting youth service participants;
  • Guide partner sites and coach youth as they develop work plans, implement activities, and document results;
  • Monitor youth service activity and provide evaluation of progress toward completing service goals;
  • Maintain accurate records of meetings, interviews, data collection and member documents;
  • Engage actively in a work environment that requires collaboration and input from all team members and initiative to take ownership of projects from start to finish;
  • Ensure compliance with AmeriCorps terms and conditions;
  • Participate in professional development activities required by AmeriCorps and Division of FRYSC.

Other Conditions

  • Internet connection adequate for managing video meetings and work tasks;
  • Proficient skills using Microsoft Office 365 applications including Teams and Zoom;
  • Travel and overnight travel required for statewide program support and training;
  • Driver?s license required.

Reports to

Division of FRYSC Director. Position contract with Ohio Valley Educational Cooperative.

Time Commitment

8:30 am ? 5 pm, Monday ? Friday. Grant funded program. Six-month probationary period. Contract based on grant funding.

Qualifications

You must be a United States citizen, United States national or lawful permanent resident of the United States. A criminal history check must be initiated and clear before work begins. A bachelor?s degree is required. Experience with AmeriCorps, volunteer/community service, education, FRYSCs, social work, or non-profits preferred.

Physical Demands & Environment

While performing the essential duties of this position, the program manager must have the physical and mental stamina to perform the key responsibilities throughout the typical workday and during additional events requested by grant stakeholders.

While performing the duties of this position, the program manager will normally be in a home office setting with frequent travel to partner schools and staff meetings. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Benefits Available

Salary $37,800 + 5% after 6 months. 240-day contract, 6 holidays, annual and sick days. Health insurance. State retirement (CERS). Employee Assistance Program.
