REQUIREMENTS: 1.) High school or GED preferred 2.) Medical front office experience preferred 3.) CPR 4.) Bilingual preferred

New Hires will have 60 days to acquire the required Basic Life Support (CPR, ALS, PALS, BLS, and/or any other life support certifications required for the job).

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides secretarial support in a medical office environment, including patient scheduling, appointments, referrals, insurance pre-certification, and confidential records. Knowledge of EMR software. Registers patients- gathering demographical information from patients and entering computer. Obtain insurance cards, picture identification and consents from patient and scans into WHS system data base. Responsible for collecting copays. Incorporates AIDET into daily communications with patients, families, visitors, and staff. Willing to attend continuing education courses at the request of the manager/director. Performs other duties as assigned.
· Patient registration is stared using 3 patient identifiers name and date of birth or Social Security number. Verifies that correct patient selected and that no other medical record exists. Understands the importance to ensure this is done correctly and understands the patient safety issues if not verified correctly.
· Balance cash drawer following proper procedure.
· Complete understanding of admission process and its integration within the Revenue Cycle and other reporting measures throughout the clinic setting.
· Assists in ensuring that all patient information and documents are secure and confidential in accordance with HIPPA guidelines.
· Basic understanding of denials relative to the potential impact from not obtaining referrals when needed.

REPORT RELATIONSHIP: Reports to the Manager of Patient Access; Director of Admissions

OSHA TASK CATEGORY TWO: There is an occasional risk of exposure to mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashed during the performance of the job.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Able to lift 10-20 pounds daily, able to lift 50-80 occasionally
