Front Desk Welcome Team Associate/Cashier/Greeter

This position reports directly to the Welcome Center Coordinator. Under general direction, the Cashier/Front Desk associate provides support to the Welcome Team and the Wellness/Fitness Team by carrying out the vision of the YWCA and the CEO. All Welcome Team/Cashiers must be knowledgeable of and be able to successfully execute the operational model for the YWCA Health & Wellness Center. They are expected to learn and master the operating software system, Daxko Operations. The Welcome Team members are expected to assist in processing all transactions associated with the following domains: membership-related fees, one-time fees, programs, Best Choice Center After School Care and Summer Camp registrations and payments. The Welcome Team members are also expected to handle the following membership-based concerns: membership freezes, cancellations, program registrations, and changing/updating billing methods. In addition, you are expected to provide support to the other teammates. Must have a cheerful personality. Welcome Team members will be cross trained and assist or fill-in for Wellness Champions. Must be able to stand for several hours and have knowledge of the fitness industry. They may be asked to perform other assigned duties as needed.

General Functions

The Welcome Team members are responsible for handling and processing all cash/check transactions at the YWCA Health & Wellness Center. You will directly assist with members checking in. All YWCA employees will provide excellent customer service to all members and guests.

Responsibilities and Other Duties

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Understand and be able to successfully navigate our operating software system, Daxko Operations
  • Handling and processing cash/check transactions at the YWCA Health & Wellness Center
  • Ensure End of Shift (EOS) bags are completed in an accurate and thorough manner. Critical membership-based documents must have the correct number of copies at the end of each shift
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills via direct personal interactions, phone calls, and email. You will be expected to answer all phone calls and return phone calls of those who have left voicemails in a timely manner
  • Check email and shared calendar daily
  • Attend to and resolve the following: member-based concerns associated with account balances and transactions, general and membership-based inquires and concerns via phone and/or in person interactions, and computer hardware and software concerns
  • Manage and resolve all membership freezes, cancellations, program registrations, and change in/updating billing methods.
  • Ensure all membership-based paperwork and transactions within Daxko Operations is performed in an accurate, timely, and efficient manner
  • Maintain a neat and orderly workspace. Assist in cleaning duties, such as: wiping down the desk/scan system area, computer, etc.
  • Attend any and all staff meetings
  • Must demonstrate soft skills and love to help people

  • Welcome Team members are self-motivated and able to work on multiple tasks. They have a strong desire to meet and exceed all member-based needs/concerns.
  • Must demonstrate effective communication and presentation skills with an underlying dedication to customer service. You should be patient, attentive to detail, possess a “can-do” attitude, and be willing to reach out and help when there is an obvious need.
  • Welcome Team members must assist in maintaining order at the scan system desk
  • Welcome Team members must be able to work cohesively in conjunction with other teammates. They must be willing and able to approach the Welcome Team Coordinator, Wellness/Fitness Coordinator, and/or VP of Operations with any conflicts or concerns that are difficult to resolve independently.
  • Must exhibit strong interpersonal and customer service-based skills
  • Must be flexible with regard to shift coverage as well as ability to assist in covering additional shifts as needed/requested
  • Welcome Team members will manage their own time wisely. Distractions such as: texting, playing games and/or watching videos on cell phones, or checking social media is prohibited.
  • Welcome Team members will work and collaborate with the Wellness Champions, Welcome Team Coordinator, Wellness/Fitness Coordinator, and the VP of Operations on all member-based concerns and inquiries
  • Welcome Team members will support and enforce all policies of the YWCA of Winston Salem and Forsyth County including the YW Cares Program
  • Each employee will be an example of a leader, a team player, and place the benefit of the organization high in their decision process
  • Any other assigned duties

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $11.00 per hour

Shift:

  • 4 hour shift
  • Morning shift

Weekly day range:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Winston-Salem, NC 27127: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Customer service: 1 year (Required)
