Division: The After Market Service (AMS) Team

Reporting to: Senior Manager, Field Operations

The After Market Service (AMS) Group is the ultimate turnkey organization providing comprehensive solutions for those refrigeration challenges and needs you have today or might face in the future. Whether your world is a supermarket, multi-store chain with refrigerated products, a convenience store, or any of a wide variety of industrial applications. Start-to-finish development, coordination and installation of refrigeration projects and programs of any size or complexity.

What we are looking for:

The Foreman will be responsible for the field oversite and direction of technicians to maintain quality workmanship for refrigeration installations, at new stores and remodel construction jobs.

What you will be responsible for in this role:

  • Responsible oversight and direction of crew
  • Lead and direct crew including operators, journeyman/pipe layers and laborers
  • Manages, communicates, and enforces production goals and schedules with the crew
  • Communicate with project management team or assigned project manager as well as the site superintendent
  • Assist in the unloading, distribution, and staging of products on project sites
  • Organize and take inventory of all hardware
  • Track change orders, missing hardware, and other site issues.
  • Experience and thorough knowledge and experience with cost controls
  • Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Perform other duties as required.
  • Proven leadership qualities with the ability to effectively and efficiently run a job and crew.
  • Knowledge of reading blueprints and understanding to direct technicians and others on scope of work.

What are the basic qualifications?

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 years’ relevant experience of leading and directing refrigeration installations on jobsites.
  • Valid State Driver's License

What are the preferred qualifications?

  • College degree preferred.

  • Solid customer service skills with a proven track record of effective communication on all levels from; General Contractor, Subcontractor, Inspector, Laborer, etc.
  • Respect the importance of ensuring Company assets (vehicles, equipment, tools, materials, etc.); are properly and continuously maintained in good repair and secured in a safe and secure manner.
  • General knowledge of construction practices and familiarity with equipment, including routine service and maintenance; washing, check fluids, tire pressures, grease, etc.
  • Able to read blueprints
  • Able to perform accurate material takeoffs and procure materials as necessary
  • Able to assist w/sourcing local subcontractors when necessary
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Computer Skills – must have strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook Email) and other system applications currently being used (Maxwell, etc.). Strong work ethic, self-motivated and a professional attitude
  • Knowledge of OSHA Safety regulations
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
  • Adhere to Hillphoenix safety program, policies, and procedures.
  • Travel – 50% of the time or when required. Work shifts vary and are driven by project requirements.

Working Environment:

In performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to talk and listen. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee is required to stand and walk throughout the workday; climb or balance; stoop, crouch and kneel. The employee must be able to climb on ladders, roofs and on occasion in high precarious places. The employee must be able to work in outdoor conditions where temperatures can exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Vision requirements include close, color and peripheral vision. Ability to work with moving mechanical parts, pressurized steam equipment, open flames, heated surfaces, liquids, and risk of electrical shock in damp, humid, or freezing conditions.

While on jobsites, this person must adhere to OSHA safety guidelines and protocols which means this person may be required to wear personal protective devices such as but not limited to hearing and eye protection.
