Wolverine Human Services is currently seeking an approachable, flexible, enthusiastic, team oriented Cook, responsible for preparing and serving planned menus as well as maintaining quality standards in the dining services department, for our residential program in Detroit, MI.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare nutritious balanced meals for the clients under the direction of the Director of Operations.
- Ensure standard recipes/menus are followed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Ability to operate and cook on an outside grill.
- Complete daily, weekly, monthly cleaning lists, and knife accountability sheets.
- Document production records daily for all meals.
- Ability to rotate the stock to follow F.I.F.O
- Observe client behavior and respond to various crisis situations while role modeling the use of client centered interventions.
- Participate/attend and complete all required contractual, licensing and agency training successfully.
- Function as a mandated reporter, as required by Michigan Child Protection Law.
- Attend all required meetings.
- Other duties, as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Two (2) years experience in food preparation.
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
90-DAY REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) seminar provided by the agency, with ability to apply and preform TCI techniques.
- Obtain American Red Cross CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Obtain ServSafe Certification.
- Obtain Michigan Allergen Certificate.
