Position Summary:
Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous service to all customers while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment for both patrons and employees.

Duties and Responsibilities
Food Preparation.
  • Prepares ingredients in advance according to ordered quantities to provide cooks needed ingredients for recipe preparation or other areas product to serve at a later time.
  • Cooks foods that are usually single ingredient foods per basic recipe.
  • Utilizes basic techniques such as slicing, grilling, deep frying, microwaving, or similar single activities not requiring multiple recipe steps.
  • Follows basic recipes to prepare/assemble salads and sandwiches.
  • Stocks area with designated products.
  • Assists with processing product delivery, stocking, & distribution of requisitioned items when necessary.
  • Ensures product quality and presentation meets standards. Reports deviations immediately.
  • Ensures ample product is available per established par level. Reports need for additional product immediately.
Provides service to customers (both internal and external) per area specific standards.
  • Properly sets up serving area according to orders/guidelines
  • Assembles orders accurately. Adheres to indicated portions, preferences and restrictions.
  • Maintains presentation standards and proper plating of food.
  • Adheres to customer service standards. Ensures good customer relations and solves problems positively
Knowledge of Cash Register, Espresso Machines, PC Applications, and cooking equipment as appropriate to perform job responsibilities.
  • Adheres to policies and standards associated with processes related to job responsibilities.
Maintains food safety, personal safety, safe and sanitary work area.
  • Follows the HACCP guidelines when handling food. Ensures food is maintained under proper conditions during all stages of production & storage.
  • Adheres to sanitation standards of personal hygiene such as proper hand hygiene.
  • Adheres to sanitation standards for equipment, floors, and work surfaces according to the Master Cleaning Schedule to meet requirements of all regulatory agencies.
  • Ensures that all refuse material is properly removed from the department.
  • Reports all unsafe situations and injuries to a supervisor immediately

  • Attends all in-service for the Department.
  • Participates in working towards attaining department goals & targets
  • Works well with change makes suggestions for improvement. Gives feedback & input.
  • Communicates information clearly & in timely manner.
  • Ensures good teamwork relations between production and other areas. .
  • Address problems with appropriate person. Resolves problems positively.
  • Utilizes time & supplies effectively.
  • Cross trained to perform retail tasks if necessary.
  • Performs other work duties as assigned.
Essential Skills Required
Strong organizational skills, cooking skills, communication skills and time management are required.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Food Sanitation Certification preferred.
Must be able to read, write and able to follow directions
Physical Demands
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Employee is required to stand and walk continuously.
  • Employee could lift/carry a light (1-20 lbs.) to medium (21-50-lbs.) load occasionally. Employee may be required to lift over 100 lbs. with assistance. Employee is occasionally required to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, climb, and lift waist to overhead. Employee is occasionally required to reach forward and reach overhead.
  • For repetitive action, employee is required to use both hands for simple grasping and pushing/pulling.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, bend and reach.
  • Ability to assist in moving small-large items as needed.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Employee is exposed to the following environmental conditions: temperature changes (heat, cold, wet, and damp) and noise continuously; and fumes, electrical hazards and confined to small areas frequently. (Occasionally: 1-33%, Frequently: 34-66%, Continuously: 67-100%)
  • The most significant of duties are included but this does not exclude occasional work assignments not mentioned or developmental duties.
