Wild Valentine is an artisan flower shop and neighborhood café in Portsmouth's South End. We offer garden-style flower arrangements, locally sourced coffee and a thoughtful assortment of food items. We are an enthusiastic team dedicated to providing our customers with an exceptional experience in a joyful environment. We aim to create a floral-filled community gathering space where creativity thrives, curiosity is encouraged, and there’s always a reason to celebrate.

Currently, we’re looking to add to our floral and retail team. The position requires 4 days per week to start with an opportunity to expand to a full-time schedule in the spring. Our ideal candidate is reliable, driven, positive, detail-oriented, and will strive to make customers and teammates feel welcome. Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional service through customer engagement
• Receive customer orders with fine attention to detail ensuring they are recorded, scheduled and executed correctly
• Design flower arrangements according to brand standards
• Maintain complete knowledge of flower and retail offerings and educate guests on products as needed
• Receive and restock flowers, houseplants, retail merchandise and supplies
• Maintain clean work area, retail floor and backstock space
• Perform daily flower deliveries in personal vehicle (with mileage reimbursement) or company van
• Complete open and close checklists and other miscellaneous tasks each day
• Step in to assist Café Team with taking and fulfilling guest orders, cleaning and other tasks, as needed throughout the day
• Maintain a clean, safe and inviting environment for both customers and teammates

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or floral industry preferred, with a strong background in and emphasis on customer service
• Exhibit strong communication skills that allow you to engage with guests authentically
• Able to remain focused yet flexible in a fast-paced, highly social environment
• Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 50lbs.)
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift for up to 10 +/- hours per shift
• Able to perform repeat motions with hands and wrists
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Willing to adapt easily and innovate to push the brand forward
• Demonstrate excellent basic math skills and high level of comfort handling money and operating a point-of-sale system
• Must be willing and able to work morning, afternoon, and weekend shifts, plus be available on/around big holidays including Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, week of Thanksgiving and week of Christmas
• Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling, assisting as needed to ensure all shifts are appropriately staffed
