Job Description:
This position will require to be trained in multiple machines throughout the department.
Claxton Plant in Carthage, MO
Earn up to $27.55 per hour, benefits start from day one, must have at least 2 years of manufacturing experience for this position.
Available shifts:
A-shift Sunday- Thursday 11pm-7am
C-shift Monday- Friday 3pm-11pm
12 hour shifts 7pm-7am
This position will require the bid partner to fill vacancies by learning and performing a group of Casting/Shred Operator positions. The Partner will be assigned to specific job’s to act as an operator for call in’s, vacations, LOA’s etc.
Work with Leaders and fellow partners to ensure Food Safety and Partner Safety. Understand and execute standard operating procedures relative to position. Perform all PCP and CCP checks required for position. Follow reaction plan for Food Safety, Food Quality and customer requirement outages and by contacting TA/TL. Be able to identify and understand customer requirements and assist in assuring proper operation and product. Record accurate data on production reports.
Must be able to PM on the assigned positions.
If special assigned, you will be draftable in the special assigned position that includes the weekend. Special assignment is for a minimum of one week. If not special assigned, you will be draftable if all partners in the work group have been exhausted.
Responsible for the efficient operation of all machines within the particular job group.
Makes common adjustments. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on all assigned equipment.
Conducts leaker and oxygen checks on all assigned equipment.
Utilizes the SFI computerized systems to generate inventory, grading and cheese charge-out information on all assigned equipment.
Coordinates cheese needs as needed.
Assist other areas as needed.
Informs maintenance of needed repairs to filling equipment and assists maintenance as needed.
Maintain all on-line production records, process control points, critical control points, critical quality points, and information as needed.
Maintain sufficient supply of clean defect free cheese to the line.
Count and record accurately all finished product produced on all lines.
Inspect and case product. Stencil cases.
Opens blocks.
Safely operates power equipment within a confined cooler, warehouse, or production environment, prevents damage to walls, racks, doors, etc. Notifies maintenance of needed repairs and reports necessary maintenance requirements on facilities and equipment.
Maintains accurate inventory levels based upon production requirements.
Utilizes the OPM equipment to generate inventory, grading and cheese charge-out.
Control/Reduce scrap and salvage as it pertains to goals.
Works with the OPM team to achieve accurate accountability.
Coordinates the efforts of Casting/Shred/Singles partners in coolers.
Coordinates with partners when clean-up of lines is required.
Writes work orders for safety and repairs of equipment
Responsibility for training new partners with proper safety procedures.
Assists in line operations for maintaining work area as to remain in compliance with regulatory agencies and SFI standards in sanitation, housekeeping and safety.
Performs miscellaneous housekeeping duties to maintain a high degree of good manufacturing practices. Keep area FDA, USDA ready at all times.
Become knowledgeable of set up of all equipment.
Assist with inventory.
Must be able to work overtime or weekends.
Other duties as assigned by TL/TA.

  • Only one partner per operator group will be allowed to be off on vacation at one time.
  • This position will be eligible for overtime and drafting in all areas of the bid pool according to current seniority guidelines.
  • Thorough knowledge of SFI grading standards for SFI products.
  • Ability to lead and comprehend written directives.
  • Ability to accurately perform arithmetic and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Ability to utilize OPM scanners, printers, etc.
  • Ability to safely handle barrels of cheese weighing 300 to 500 pounds.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 55#.
  • Ability to assemble, operate, tear down and clean miscellaneous Casting/Shred equipment.
  • Ability to maintain inventory control within cooler by monitoring and rotating stock.
  • Ability to open corrugated blocks of cheese weighing 20# to 40# and 640# wood and steel blocks.
  • Ability to operate power equipment safely.
  • Ability to use proper lifting technique in order to work in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to work overtime daily and/or weekends.
  • Ability to understand and to converse accountability issues thru OPM.
  • Thorough knowledge of all cooler/cutting room operations and equipment
  • Ability to write procedures and processes.
  • Must be certified in lock out tag out.
  • Ability to utilize CRT.
  • Ability to read and understand production schedules/blend sheets.
  • Must be able to become power equipment (forklift) certified and keep that certification current and on going.
