The Madison Club is hiring for a Front Desk/Fitness Instructor. The ideal candidate will be professional, courteous and energetic. They will welcome our members and guest to the clubs Fitness Center. They will assist with inquiries and class training along with fitness activities.

The Madison Club is open during the winter & spring season, and this role will be for a part- time, seasonal need from October 2022 - June 2023. Preferred candidates will have a flexible schedule, be able to work weekends & holidays, and understand that time off requests will not be honored during March or April (key event/ festival months).

Key Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests, providing exceptional customer service.
• Handle all front desk related activities including:
• Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with a variety of questions.
• Assist members with appointments for personal training
• Maintains appearance of the fitness center and other fitness areas throughout the day to include stock and re-stocking of items as needed such as towel display, food, and beverage items.
• Maintains cleanliness of fitness center and equipment.
• Attending to the laundering and folding of towels to maintain an adequate supply at all times.
• Maintains bulletin board with workout suggestions and upcoming fitness events.
• Is familiar with functionality of all machines and able to answer member inquiries regarding machines.
• Reports any safety or maintenance concerns immediately.
• Completes daily set-up/breakdown as requested.
• Stays current on all activities offered and equipment related to recreational activities.
• Demonstrates or trains others on safe and effective usage of all fitness and equipment.
• When training, the Trainer must act as an extension of the Fitness Club. Consequently, their teaching must be sound, and image must be maintained, and be constantly aware of the "public relations" role they play at the club.
• Trainers must execute all personal training services as designed to be with 5-star club service. Safety for all and a spirit of encouragement and goal-oriented progression with members.

Skills and Qualifications

• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team member
• Previous experience in the fitness industry, strongly preferred
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and a shift greater than eight (8) hours in length.
• CPR certified. Fitness Accreditation which shows education in the areas of anatomy, and fitness.
• License/Certification: Fitness Accreditation- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Certification in CPR/AED. Certification from national organization such as ACSM, ACE, PTAG, W.I.T.S, CSCS, TPI, MAT, NSCA, NASM required.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors, standing, walking, running, moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, heavy lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, pushing and pulling sometimes in excess of fifty (50) pounds.
