Make an impact: The Group Fitness Instructor instructs quality group fitness classes, provides excellent customer service to members in a safe, enjoyable and positive environment that promotes member wellness. Instructors will offer modifications for all levels of member fitness, watch for proper form and help correct but leading by example, giving verbal ques and asking to help member adjust their alignment.

This position is for you, if you can:

• Plan and instruct quality group fitness classes
• Conduct fun, safe and educational classes
• Maintain working knowledge of fitness industry and YMCA trends to provide effective information and training to members
• Keep accurate class attendance records
• Be able to respond and follow all YMCA policies and procedures

You’ve got this, if you are:

• Certification CPR/First Aid, AED
• National Certification (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM) in group fitness instruction or YMCA Foundation of Group Exercise Certification
• Possess excellent verbal and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
• Must have excellent time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Preferred 1 year of customer service
• Must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
