Job Overview: Wonders of Wildlife is currently seeking a dynamic FINANCIAL ANALYST to join our team! If you have a knack for finance, data visualization, and SQL, keep reading!

Put simply, the Financial Analyst (FA) role utilizes data to tell meaningful stories, driving financial and business decisions. The FA has a variety of tools at their disposal and should be comfortable with data visualization tools (Power BI is preferred), writing custom SQL reports, and using advanced MS Excel functions. This role supports the entire Johnny Morris' Wonders of Wildlife Foundation including the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium, Top of the Rock, and Dogwood Canyon Nature Park.

Key Functions:

• Analyzes current financial reports and data for accuracy and trends; utilizes large sets of internal and external data to model future revenues, expenses, and related data.
• Monitors actual expenses/revenues against budget and previous performance. Preemptively alerts Controller of any downturn in business.
• Utilizes data within ERP to build budget reports for managers and senior leaders.
• Utilizes SQL to reconcile data sets
• Builds custom Power BI dashboards to monitor financial and operational KPIs; Utilizes Power BI
• Performs a variety of analyses including breakeven, variance, and profitability.
• Invent new ways to define and measure program effectiveness and organizational productivity
• Prepares financial reports and ad-hoc reports as needed.
• Complies with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Assists the Accounting department with additional duties and special projects as may be needed
• Must adhere to all company/department safety standards and policies.
• Must have an approved driving record and operate a company vehicle if required/applicable.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field required. Masters, CMA, or CPA desired.
• Two to four years of practical learning and experience in financial and business information systems & analytics
• Ability to work with multiple operational and capital budgets
• Must have experience with SQL, TSQL, SSRS, and similar database tools
• Must have experience with data visualization (e.g. Domo, Tableau, Power BI, Crystal)
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, power pivot, power query
• Ability to communicate complex data in a simple, actionable way both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work independently and with team members from varied backgrounds
• Proficient with accounting software, MS Office, and POS systems. Ideal candidate will have experience working in NetSuite or similar ERP systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CMA certification
• Non-Profit experience
• Experience supporting multiple organizations with cohesion
