LOCATION/HOURS

This is a full-time, hybrid position based out of our New York City office location. It is expected that some duties will be performed on-site, and some remotely, with the understanding that government and public health guidelines will determine the extent to which it is safe to carry out in-person and onsite activities.

POSITION OVERVIEW

SEO is in growth mode and we're in search of an insightful and detail-oriented Analyst to join our Finance team. This role will be focused on the organization's operational KPIs and will support the Director of FP&A and VP of Finance in providing the critical financial analysis to help leaders and budget-owners understand and evaluate the organization's financial health and future.

The ideal candidate for this role must be skilled in forecast modeling, budgeting, financial analysis, and effective relationship management. This role requires the ability to center SEO's people and mission in connection to the financial resource we rely on to create a more equitable society.

Responsibilities include:

  • Helping to build and maintain detailed and dynamic financial models powered by data to inform regular reporting, budgeting/planning, and evaluation of our financial portfolio.
  • Working closely with leadership to track operational KPIs and partnering with teams to stay informed on the day-to-day operations to drive process improvement.
  • Deliver on operational and analytical processes connected to each accounting period close, and perform monthly close variance analyses.
  • Under the direction of the VP of Finance and Associate Director of FP&A, support in the preparation of analysis, commentary and presentation materials for the monthly and quarterly financial Board reviews, and ad hoc leadership reporting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS/BA in Finance or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of applied professional experience in financial reporting and analysis (FP&A) or consulting.
  • Strong Excel skills with a deep understanding of model architecture, formula efficiency, and pivot tables. Prior experience with SQL/BigQuery and BI/data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Direct experience with forecasting, reporting, and/or procurement software (e.g., Adaptive, NetSuite, Coupa, etc.)
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills with the ability to frame and reason through complex business problems, sometimes in the face of ambiguity or imperfect information.

  • Relationship Management: A proven track record of repeatedly building successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive towards successful shared outcomes.
  • Accountability: A proven ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and accountability. Must be comfortable navigating ambiguity in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
  • Critical Thinking and Flexibility: Capable of anticipating needs, employing best practices, and making thoughtful decisions. Must be able to adjust to changes and work demands quickly while maintaining a strategic and tactical vision of the larger plan.

The compensation listed in this posting reflects what SEO believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting.
