Finance Analyst (Orders Reporting, Analysis & Forecasting)

In this role as a Finance Analyst, you will provide financial and control expertise to the ABB Electrification Sales Team in the US, benchmarking KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) while working with other finance professionals to understand the drivers of financial performance, identifying trends relevant to the business. Additionally, you will aid the organization by compiling and analyzing metrics for performance versus budgets and forecasts, while identifying trends and problems, communicating information to relevant groups and recommending actions to improve financial performance. You will study business performance, including financial modelling to forecast the impacts and risks and recommend areas for continuous improvement. The intention for this role is that the ideal candidate will be able to work in one of our Hub Locations (Bloomfield, CT; Cary, NC; Memphis, TN; or Atlanta, GA).

Your responsibilities

  • Lead commercial orders pacing with the Sales Team and collaborate with the Division Front End Controllers on actual performance and on the forecast
  • Helping to prepare financial reporting, business planning, budgeting and forecasting documents and presentations related to the orders metric
  • Optimizing performance to increase productivity by developing automated solutions, eliminating duplication and coordinating information requirements
  • Establishing and overseeing processes and tools to obtain transparent and reliable financial data and business information and drive enhanced controllership on orders booking
  • Work with the Sales Incentive Compensation Team on forecasting, financial modeling and monthly accounting for commissions
  • Ensuring timely and efficient communication with Front End Controllers, the Sales & Marketing Team and the SIP Team to help drive profitable growth and to identify risks & opportunities as well as discuss issues and suggestions for improvement

Your background

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field and minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in an accounting or financial analyst role (or significant relevant experience in lieu of degree)
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with computerized accounting systems and financial reporting software, including SAP and Power BI a plus
  • Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy and ability to multitask
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
